Week 8 Fantasy Football Start and Sit Calls to Help You Win
Can you believe it’s week 8 and we’re at the halfway point in the season? Can you believe half the stuff that’s happened so far this year? Can you believe Chris Johnson finally showed up for a game? Can you believe I actually have Chris Johnson in the “START” column for week 8?
Let me blow your mind with my week 8 start and sit fantasy football calls:
QB, Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks
After beating the Patriots at home, Wilson and the Seahawks had a bye to rest. I like the combination of rest and confidence facing the confused Lions. I like him as a high QB2 this week. 289 passing, 40 rushing, 1 passing TD, 1 rushing TD
QB, Matt Hasselbeck, Tennessee Titans
Hasselbeck has been playing very well since Locker went down. I like the rythm he’s got going and he could get a boost with some easy throws to Chris Johnson that could get him big numbers. Again, like him as a high QB2. 305 passing, 3 TD’s
QB, Sam Bradford, St. Louis Rams
He could be a bye week savior for some people this week. The Patriots’ secondary has been a concern as of late. Bradford should have a good day. 301 passing, 2 TD’s
RB, Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans
Finally saw the old CJ2k last week. Will it continue? I think Johnson is a nice play this week against Indianapolis as Tennessee will do anything to keep his confidence up. 112 rushing, 5 receptions for 46 yards, TD
RB, Alex Green, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay saw 22 touches last week so Green Bay must trust him. He’ll have some nice running room this week against a weak Jacksonville D. 102 rushing, 3 receptions for 32 yards, TD
WR, Michael Crabtree, San Francisco 49ers
I love Crabtree this week since the Cardinals are reeling and the 49ers defense should get some turnovers. That could result in more targets for Crabtree. 7 receptions, 89 yards, TD
WR, Randall Cobb, Green Bay Packers
Can you say explosion! Cobb has been on a tear getting more looks since Greg Jennings went down. If Jennings is back then he’ll lose time but Green Bay has to find ways to get this guy the ball. 5 receptions, 90 yards, TD
TE, Kyle Rudolph, Minnesota Vikings
I think Rudolph gets some open looks this week against Tampa Bay. He’s a huge redzone target. This one is strictly on a hunch. 4 receptions 54 yards and a TD
QB, Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers
Talk about disappointing. Not to mention frustrating. Just stay away for now…especially against the Bears defense.
QB, Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions
I hear you yelling. I know….How do you sit Stafford? Well, I’m just not feeling the Lions right now. Stafford faces a tough Seattle defense that shook up Tom Brady. Proceed with caution.
RB, Doug Martin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Minnesota Vikings run defense is pretty solid. Not a lot of time to heal on a short week as they have a Thursday night game.
RB, Shonn Green, New York Jets
Had a monster two weeks ago and got people excited. Had a TD last week against the Patriots but I think he comes back to reality against a tough Miami run defense.
WR, Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals
First he’s facing the 49ers. Second, the Cardinals are folding fast after a strong start. How much do you trust John Skelton? I don’t.
WR, Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City Chiefs
It’s my understanding that Brady Quinn gets the start for the Chiefs this week. I smell disaster for Bowe’s stats and the Chiefs.
TE, Brandon Pettigrew, Detroit Lions
I do like Pettigrew but think that if Stafford struggles then so must Pettigrew against the very tough Seahawks defense.
